Workshop “Argumentation and (X)AI”

Language and Cognition in Argumentation (LANCAR) hosted the third workshop of the RPA Human(e) AI project Towards an Epistemological and Ethically Explainable AI (TEEXAI) at the University of Amsterdam on November 18-19, 2021. The workshop, titled “Argumentation and (X)AI”, centered around the question of which insights from the Philosophy of Argument can play which role in the design of explainable AI. Several participants in the workshop were also interviewed by students of the IIS Honours module From Fact-Checking to Argument-Checking in a panel about the technical and ethical dimensions of the question “Can a machine do Argument-Checking?”
